Prior to the recent stepping down in Rome and ultimate election of a new pope -- something that hasn't happened in 600 years (which, I believe, pre-dates Twitter) -- I would have told you that it was not something that could ever happen during Lent. I honestly would have thought that, according to the "Pope Playbook," stepping down was an option, yet not during the all-important 40 days and 40 nights (in case you think I am joking, I refer you to: http://youtu.be/uvUYqWgwgRs ). What can I say -- I have only retained so much from my 12 years of Catholic school education (and two years as an altar boy). Yet, it happened, and we survived. Pope Francis is the 266th pontiff.
