A statement from Ryan Gorman regarding the Senator Dodd interview.
There have been numerous reports over the past few days regarding this show and I’d like to take a moment to correct the record. Back on July 7th of this year, the “Tom Scott & Ryan Show” was launched. The idea behind the show was to have two hosts with different backgrounds and experiences discuss the issues of the day.

It took me months to finally get Senator Dodd to do an interview on the show.

It has been spun in the media that the interview that took place has been kept off the air by WELI for political reasons, to cover-up Tom’s questioning of Senator Dodd on a few issues. That is 100% incorrect. Neither my management nor the company that owns this radio station, Clear Channel Communications, NEVER in ANY WAY suppressed the airing of the Dodd interview.

The reason the interview never aired was out of respect for Tom Scott. The interview was done by the “Tom Scott & Ryan Show” and because Tom Scott decided to stop working at this radio station, we didn’t think it would be very professional to air the Dodd interview.

But, as it usually does, the media has not only blown this WAY out of proportion, they have also printed total lies. We have no problem airing the interview because of the contents. As you are about to hear there is nothing special or newsworthy about the interview, but because WELI and this show is being unfairly accused of “hiding it”, we’ll go ahead and let you listen to it: Click Here

It is unfortunate that the media would print falsehoods. However, it does just prove that a majority of today’s media is only interested in CREATING controversy where there is none. I personally wish Tom Scott the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his work on this show.

Moving forward I will continue to work hard at covering the issues that matter to you most, both locally and nationally. We will continue to have the biggest newsmakers of the day on the show and we will continue to hold those accountable, both in public office and in the media, when accountability is necessary. We will include all sides of every issue in on the discussion and welcome your thoughts and opinions every day as this is the only local talk show in the New Haven area. We will NEVER suppress the truth!
